I was born in Manitoba Canada, in July 1971, where I still reside today. I really like it here. My hobbies have included cross-stitch, needlepoint, quilting, costuming, cake decorating, baking, cooking, metal work, beading, sculpting, painting, doll making, henna tattooing and a few others that I have forgotten. Oh, and writing of course. That's why you are here. The writing is what has happened to my brain after years of reading sci-fi and fantasy, mythology and fairy tales. Plots have been the same since time began. My writing actively pursues the concept of Happily Ever After that so rarely occurs in nature. I also attend our local sci-fi/fantasy convention every year and use it to get ideas for odd personalities. Actual humans are great inspiration. We need more of them. Support the breeding programs! :)
***To answer a question I get asked a lot. Why are my books so short? There are a few answers to this one so I will give you what I have worked out so far. 1. To meet my publishing schedule, the books have to be written in a certain span of time. That means shorter stories. 2. I think in short stories. The meeting, the falling in love and the beginning of happily ever after. After that point, the reader is on their own. 3. I hate to say this, but the reasons are financial. While most of you will think nothing of buying a book for 2.99 or 3.99, when it comes to 5.99 or 6.99 the hands stay firmly away from the wallets. I live off my royalties, so more is better. It is mercenary, but I believe in honesty first. 4. There is enough starter material in each novella to craft a full novel, and that has always been my intention. In 2011 I will begin my publishing slow down. I write over 60k words per month, so this will allow for more detail in each story. 5. Some of my readers want more, more, more. This means faster writing just to stop the emails. I take all of my reader mail to heart and am trying to keep everyone happy. Me first.
