Arena Station: Champions of Terra, Book 1

Researcher Kyra Dannick of the Protectorate of Terra was on her way to the legendary planet of Admar, when her spaceship was hijacked. Kyra woke from her stasis in captivity and ended up on Arena Station, where she joined the ranks of gladiator/slaves who were forced to fight in the Arena for the bloodthirsty crowds. One day, she was chosen by the slavers for a special “duty,” that of sexually servicing a male gladiator of an alien species, who was in the throes of the mating fever. Without a choice, Kyra was forced to comply, but Tiergar wasn’t the wild animal she expected--and the outcome of their encounter was surprising to both of them.

I really enjoyed this book. Author Viola Grace skillfully combines science fiction and erotica in a short novel that sizzles. The author’s prose is clean and straightforward, yet descriptive and emotional as well. The science fiction plot is well-crafted, and the romance is seamlessly integrated into the whole. The love scenes are very erotic and emotionally rewarding. Best of all, this is the first of a series called Champions of Terra, so we will soon be treated to more excellent SF stories!

I received two reviews from Coffee Time Romance on the same day. One in the Erotic Category, and one in the Sci-fi Category. Sweet! Each was a four cup review.

Arena Station

After much research, Kyra Dannick, a human female, has rediscovered the lost planet of Admar. On her way to the planet to verify her findings, her stasis chamber is hijacked. She takes exception to being pawed by three strangers when she awakens, defends herself, and is sold off to the Arena.

On his way to an important meeting, Tiergar, an Azon male, is captured and brought to the Arena. The Azons are a rare, cat-like species. He more than keeps spectators happy. Kyra has shown herself to be a ferocious combatant and hopes to earn enough money to ensure her escape. When she is deemed to be a physical match with Tiergar, who has come into rut, she is prepared for a 'date' with him.

What she perceives in advance will be a most unpleasant experience turns into something she could never have dreamed when she meets and mates with Tiergar. The two of them prove to be more than compatible as emotions and passions rise and flare hot and heavy between them. Kyra and Tiergar are fighters who come together by design and meld into a stronger unit. I won't tell you how they are rescued, only that it is clever and made me smile.

A mix of danger, humor, and interesting places, the story is packed with action. The writing is smooth and fast-paced, and the characters are perfection. ARENA STATION is a delightful, completely satisfying read. I will read it again.
