After a career ending injury, ex-pilot Annabelle “Anna” Maddox has been given a new assignment on a technology-free planet of Avari. Unable to be in the vicinity of any electrical impulses, Anna sees this as an opportunity to rebuild a life on an alien world.  Tarun Bien, elder of the Zenas clan on Avari, is attracted to Anna.  Her arrival seven days prior to the Nyx Festival doesn’t give him much time to seduce and push the bounds of their mutual attraction.  But time is of the essence and Tarun is playing for keeps.

Anna is a very courageous heroine.  If I were in her shoes, I would be seeking professional and medicinal assistance.  But Anna has an optimistic fighting spirit that is quite admirable even after everything that has happened to her.  Tarun sees not only this quality but her potential once she releases her fears.  He is such a patient man who, even though he withholds information, is charming and delightful.  He is attracted to her inner beauty, overlooking the physical scars due to her injuries.  This bond between them is intimate, passionate and romantic, which progresses naturally, even if Tarun has an agenda.  Although the sex scenes are a bit later in the story, the self pleasuring and the lotion rubbing scene definitely got me warmed up.  I found the futuristic environment versus the pre-technological planet quite fascinating.  Ms. Grace has woven an interesting contrast between the two worlds.  The paradise planet of Avari is peaceful, simply pleasant and the inhabitants are completely open about sex.  The secondary characters were enjoyable.  When a group of ladies get together they are bound to gossip and talk about sex no matter the species.  The author does a splendid job of creating a connection within all the characters, main or secondary, which gave this story quite a communal feeling.  I enjoyed the pleasant and natural flow of the storyline.  I felt that the story unraveled at it’s own pace just as Anna and Tarun’s relationship developed naturally, not too slow or too fast.  Champions of Terra: Avari Nyx Festival of the Night is the third installment of the Champions of Terra series but can be read individually.  I have not read the previous two but seeing as I enjoyed this story, I will backtrack and read how this series began.  I look forward to future stories from Ms. Grace.

Annabelle Maddox is a pilot no longer  fit for duty because her ship was 
blasted during a daring rescue of kidnapped  Alliance members on Arena Station. 
Her Pilot's Harness had physically connected  her to the ship, and she had to be 
extricated from the fried circuitry. As a  result, Anna's nerve endings are 
damaged beyond repair and her days of living  around electronics are over.

Negotiator Amy Tyrell has found a place for  Anna to go. The planet Avari is 
part of the  Alliance but, other than a small  communication station, has no 
technology. Sad to leave life as she knows it,  Anna, a Champion of Terra, 
chooses to accept and looks forward to her new  journey. On Avari, she is met by 
Village Elder Tarun Bien, who is gorgeous, but  so young.

Tarun feels that he has met his mate. Allowing her time to  adjust to her new 
life and surroundings is not what he wants to do. Fortunately  for him, the 
Nyx Festival Night is only seven days away, and he can openly  declare his 
feelings. In the meantime, Tarun helps Anna adapt. She can get used  to 
tranquility and peace. Their lives are turned upside down, but the hot  passion and 
delight they find in each other make them very glad that  circumstances brought 
them together.

As in ARENA STATION and DEAL WITH A  DHEMON, Viola Grace gives us a 
well-written, eventful meshing of two diverse  people finding that love does not know 
boundaries. Emotions run high, and the  sex is hot and sweet. Avari is a lovely 
place. AVARI NYX is the third book in  the Champions of Terra Series. The 
author has created worlds and people  worth knowing. Definitely a keeper, I 
highly recommend AVARI NYX.

"Avari Nyx – Champions of Terra: Book 3 brings a strong heroine in Anna, who allows the reader to feel her strength and her affliction in her tormented pain. Tarun’s easy- going demeanor completes her and I think the two make an excellent pair. I was so happy that Anna was able to achieve some form of consolation in her life. Viola Grace pens a delightful read that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was different and unique, in its own special way. All the characters made this one smooth read that dances with delight."
