Magus Shift
"Magus Shift is book one of the Half – Blood Club
by author Viola Grace and a wonderful read it is. I have read
the whole series in no particular order, and they all can be read
singly or as a whole. I loved Izzy’s take charge manner and
confidence. James was a take charge terror as well, so I foresee
future battles of dominance. James’s shock when Izzy takes control
was fun to see. The Half – Blood Club series was an
enchanting and heart warming story of a group of friends who are there
and will be there for always. Viola Grace is a must read for me
and I highly recommend you give her a try."

Isobel Marlin, nicknamed Hex by her girlfriends spends most of her life
staying undercover. By day she masquerades as a computer technician, but
she secretly is one of the most powerful mages born into the Marlin
family. Making a portal through a mirror she rescues her friend George, a
female dragon, who has inadvertently been chained naked to a bed after
ardent lovemaking to Rikard, a member of the dragon council. Enraging
George’s lover places Isobel blatantly on the magical radar. She is
brought before the council and made to fulfill a pact with the Sterling
family that her father had broken years ago when he fell in love and
married her mother, a hedge witch. This pact leaves her hand fasted for a
year to a powerful Warlock of the Sterling family.
James and Isobel are completely aroused and taken by each other, but they
are not in the clear. They have to fight against jilted lovers, petty
squabbles by meddling in-laws, as well as anger from a male dragon who is
not too happy that his chained lover has flown the coop. This story is
over the top in romance and sensuality. The plot is intriguing with well
developed characters who draw you in and make you want to hear more about
their unique story. I would love to hear more about how the dragon lovers
fare. I’d like to learn about the romance of Isobel’s parents. Her
friend the half-elf and the goblin servant are equally fascinating with
well-developed personalities that further deepen the plot and submerge you
into a fascinating realm. I was enthralled when the lovers played strip
hide and seek in a maze. The love making between the couple was sensual,
erotic, romantic and physically arousing. The magical elements enhanced
the love scenes beautifully and made for extraordinary reading. The ending
was wonderful and everything that I hoped it would be. I loved this book
and hope there will be more spin-off stories from this smorgasbord of
fascinating characters.
