Five angels from FAR!

"The Warder’s Vampire is an otherworldly book about powerful magic and all of our favorite paranormal races mixed up together. Viola Grace is just wonderful at world building, and she shares her vision of the supernatural kingdom, called Realm, in a fresh and intriguing way. Sera and Franco are definitely a match for each other in more ways than one, and watching them learn each other was fascinating. Characters are depth-appropriate for the book length, and I really loved how the author went outside the norm as far as how she portrayed their powers. You’ve never seen half-breeds like these before! As I entered into this series with this book, I’ll be hunting up the others and getting my Realm fix. Five Angels!"

When her sister Mitzy tells Serafina that she is pregnant, the dhampir knows that she will have to guard the Repository on All Hallows Eve. Serafina is a rarity in the Realm, a female dhampir. She is one-half Warder and one-half Vampire. While in the vampire room of the Repository she touches the picture frame of a particularly enchanting vampire and finds her magic being pulled out of her. Suddenly her father shows up, she is charged with finding a lost relative and the sexy vampire is the one she is meant to be with. .

For such a short book, The Warder’s Vampire packs a punch. Just enough lovely sex to start your blood flowing, but not so much that you need to reach for any toys. The characters are for the most part well-developed, although it would have been nice to have seen some more background development on Franc. Although there isn’t much magic going on, outside of charging the wards, and a few transportation spells, there is lots of biting between Franc and Serafina. The tension between them is immediate and you can feel the steam beginning to rise. The sex scenes are good with a feel for how hot Franc and Sera are for each other, but are brief and not very detailed. This is a good book for vampire and magic lovers, who like to know magic, legendary creatures and erotica exist, but aren’t into all the gory details.
