Once upon a time, there was a little author who wanted to run free amongst her own kind... people who can and do love reading. She heard tell of a place where just such a gathering occurred. It was called the Romantic Times convention and it was held in Pittsburgh, PA from April 16-20, 2008.

And so off she went.

April 15th. My first 'day' at the convention, although the con hasn't actually started yet.  It begins Wednesday April 16th at 8am. Guess who will be in line at 7:45?

Ok, soo.... I would like to introduce you to my Lampire. He will be coming with me to all events, and will do well as an ice-breaker.

He is a hand-puppet that I doctored up a little with a suede cape and some gemstones. And fangs, and eyebrows.

And here is the first piece of shwag that I scored from the charming and friendly Jackie Kessler... in an elevator. She took pity on this con-virgin and I got a neato stress ball that has already spent sometime living its designed purpose.

Many of the pictures were taken when I was not present, but the polymer clay dragons were made by Bianca D'Arc. She and I share a polymer fetish.
